Mission Statement

The Shelter Foundation is dedicated to the enhancement of the quality of life in Maryland, with a focus on Baltimore City school children.  The Foundation is committed to improving the lives of people living in underserved communities by supporting innovative, results-oriented efforts to address systemic social, economic, and environmental problems.

Review Process

The Shelter Foundation encourages applications from non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations that show promise of having a substantial impact on community members and stakeholders, as well as those that demonstrate organizational stability or growth. Consideration is also given to applications that provide creative responses to pressing community needs, strengthen the operational base to ensure more effective and efficient delivery of services, and demonstrate potential for stimulating new sources of financial support.
